Zhi Xiang Mandarin Preschool aims to develop the student’s interest in the language , broaden their perspective of life and prepares them to enter Chinese primary schools. Our curriculum: We focus on efforts to provide meaningful and fun-learning opportunity to children from ages four to six years. The main focus is the children-centered teaching and learning process which emphasizes on inquiry and discovery. 1) Mandarin Language Emphasizes the four areas of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing as in accordance to the MOE National Curriculum for Preschool. 2) Mathematics Logical reasoning to solve everyday problems, compare and describe objects and shapes, learn to think critically and independently   3) Science Children make observations, gather information, identify patterns, describe and discuss observations, and form explanations and generalizations to understand the world and its surroundings. 4) Cultural Awareness & Moral Education Social , emotional development and moral education to nurture a solid and good foundation in our children 5) English Language Phonics based program, Whole Word Recognition, Development of reading and Spelling, Reading & Comprehension. 6) Malay Language Malay syllable, whole world recognition, understanding and usage of words, development of spelling, reading and comprehensive skills are introduced based on their respective stages. 7) Extended approach: Inquiry based approach for 5 & 6 years old Students explore traditional subject areas with organised themes. The framework consists exploration of knowledge and with exercises and work sessions. These extends and challenge their thinking, which in turn encouraged them to be competent thinkers and communicators.
